Job Description

The Food Service Worker for Lebanon Correctional Institution supervises inmates to ensure that meals and food items are prepared according to production plans. Responsibilities include training workers, assigning and coordinating work, and maintaining sanitation and safety standards. The role may vary by location based on client needs.

Job Responsibilities

1. Adhere to and maintain preparation and production guidelines according to Aramark standards.
2. Supervise inmates in food preparation and tray assembly.
3. Ensure timely, efficient meal service and compliance with guidelines.
4. Participate in meal preparation and serving.
5. Print and distribute recipes.
6. Train inmates on recipes and proper cooking procedures.
7. Ensure proper portions and dietary requirements are met.
8. Obtain and review daily population counts.
9. Follow security policies; ensure storage areas are locked.
10. Return and secure all kitchen tools, equipment, and keys.
11. Prepare work and sanitation schedules, ensuring adherence.
12. Assist with inventory, receiving, storing, and requisitioning food items.
13. Participate in meal assembly and storage following HACCP policies.

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 years of age.

• Preferred: supervisory experience.
• Experience with inmates is a plus.

• Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
• Follow safety procedures and policies.
• Qualify for and maintain correctional security clearance.

Physical demands may include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended standing or walking. Uniforms and PPE may be required.
