Job summary

Genuine Foods is seeking a Food Service Worker to join a team serving meals in a higher education setting. You will prepare and serve menu items, assist the Culinary Lead, and provide outstanding service to students and educators in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

The role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and care for the students’ well-being, with opportunities to learn culinary skills and grow within a supportive company culture.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of food or customer service experience in a mid-high volume food service facility or restaurant.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic and punctuality.
• Able to climb stairs and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Interest in Genuine Foods’ mission to use food to help students enhance their minds, bodies and happiness.

Responsibilities

• Make menu items pursuant to recipes.
• Prepare raw foodstuffs to get ready for final cooking.
• Follow the lead of the Culinary Lead at all times.
• Coordinate with the kitchen team at all times.
• Cook and assemble all menu items pursuant to specifications.
• Stock and organize the kitchen area.
• Clean and maintain cooking utensils.
• Interact with scholars and teachers as needed to provide excellent service.
• Maintain clean service areas.
• Alert Culinary Lead of any workplace problems.
• Must be flexible & team-oriented.
