Job Title: Food Service Worker at North Central Regional Jail and Correctional Facility

The Food Service Worker at North Central Regional Jail and Correctional Facility supervises inmates to ensure meal and food item preparation aligns with production plans. Responsibilities include training workers, assigning and coordinating tasks to promote efficiency, and maintaining sanitation and safety standards in accordance with regulations. Essential duties may vary by location based on client needs and business requirements.

Job Responsibilities

1. Adhere to preparation and production guidelines, reviewing logs regularly.
2. Supervise inmates during food prep and tray assembly.
3. Ensure timely meal service and compliance with Aramark standards.
4. Participate in meal preparation and serving.
5. Print and distribute recipes; train inmates on proper cooking techniques.
6. Ensure proper portions and accommodate dietary restrictions.
7. Monitor and review daily population counts with staff.
8. Follow security policies; lock storage areas; secure keys.
9. Manage kitchen tools and equipment; ensure proper storage and security.
10. Develop work and sanitation schedules; ensure adherence by staff and inmates.
11. Assist with inventory, receiving, storing food, and requisitioning supplies.
12. Participate in meal assembly processes following HACCP and company standards.

Note: Job duties may evolve; flexibility is essential for meeting organizational needs.

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 years old.
• At least one year of food prep or related experience preferred.
• Supervisory experience is a plus.
• Experience with inmates is advantageous.
• Ability to motivate and supervise in a correctional environment.
• Ability to obtain a food safety certification.
• Capable of working independently and exercising good judgment.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain correctional security clearance.

This role may involve physical activity such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended standing or walking. Uniforms and PPE may be required.
