This position is located at one of the following facilities on Naval Station Great Lakes in Illinois: Buckley's Restaurant at the Veterans Memorial Golf Course, Great Lakes Brew Club, and the MWR food truck which operates out of Buckley's Restaurant at the golf course. The purpose of this position is to provide management with flexibility to cover both a Bartender position and a Food Service Worker position using a single employee.
Duties
- 35% Prepares a limited variety of alcoholic drinks by selecting proper premix and garnishes, requiring a working knowledge of various mixed drinks. Serves patrons at counter or table service, receives payment, operates a cash register, and makes change. Works from drink recipes and is responsible for accurate pre-measuring to meet retail accountability requirements.
- 35% Prepares a variety of food orders following recipes, takes food orders, and sends them to the kitchen for preparation. Serves food and alcoholic drinks, processes payments, operates a cash register, and returns change.
- 15% Cleans kitchen and service counter equipment, washes dishes, pots, pans, glasses, and flatware. Cleans meat slicer per instructions. Sweeps, mops, vacuums floors, and disposes of food waste and trash.
- 5% Prepares Daily Activity Report for cash receipt documentation at the end of each shift and deposits monies in the drop safe.
- 5% Secures the building at close of business in the absence of management.
- 5% Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must pass all applicable records and background checks.
- Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check; any discrepancies must be resolved prior to employment.
- Must be 21 years or older and submit proof of age.
- Requires frequent light to moderate lifting and carrying objects weighing 5 to 15 pounds, pushing, and pulling objects weighing 10 to 20 pounds. Heavier objects, such as beer kegs, are transported with a dolly.
- Starting May 7, 2025, non-affiliated individuals requesting access will need a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or other acceptable ID to access CNRMA Installations.
