About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for supervising inmate labor and team members assisting with food service in a correctional facility. This role involves preparing and serving a variety of food items according to work instructions and menus, utilizing food preparation utensils and machines.

Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities

• Supervise inmate labor and/or team members during food prep and service shifts.
• Prepare and assist in food preparation according to menus and recipes.
• Ensure proper and sanitary storage of food.
• Serve food according to schedules and policies.
• Use kitchen utensils and equipment for cooking and serving.
• Follow food safety regulations.
• Train other food service workers.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
• Adhere to uniform policy and cleanliness standards.
• Manage garbage and kitchen cleanliness.
• Ensure the environment is ready for food prep and service.
• Review portions and utensils for service.
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need

• High School Diploma or Equivalent, and at least 18 years old.
• Preferred: prior institutional or restaurant food service experience.
