Job summary

District 220 is seeking a Food Service Worker to support the daily operation of the school cafeteria by preparing, serving, and cleaning up meals while maintaining high standards of food safety and customer service. Responsibilities include preparing and serving food items per the daily menu, setting up serving stations, replenishing food during meals, cleaning and sanitizing work areas, and following HACCP documentation and sanitation procedures.

Hours are 9:00 a.m.

Qualifications

  • Must follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Able to communicate effectively with students and staff.
  • Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25–40 pounds.
  • Food service experience preferred but not required.
  • Must read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve food items according to the daily menu.
  • Set up and break down serving stations.
  • Replenish food during meal service.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, counters, and equipment.
  • Complete required HACCP documentation accurately and on time.
  • Follow district food safety, sanitation, and workplace procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job description

The Food Service Worker supports the daily operation of the school cafeteria by preparing, serving, and cleaning up meals while maintaining high standards of food safety and customer service.

  • Prepare and serve food items according to the daily menu
  • Set up and break down serving stations
  • Replenish food during meal service
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, counters, and equipment
  • Complete required food safety documentation (HACCP) accurately and on time
  • Follow all district food safety, sanitation, and workplace procedures
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

  • Previous food service experience preferred but not required
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English


Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (during the school year)

Salary: $17.25 per hour
