The Veterans Canteen Service (VCS) at the Aspinwall, PA VA Medical Center is seeking part-time Food Service Workers to provide quality service to our nation's veterans.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Prepare food items such as breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches, wraps, pancakes, burritos, and more.
2. Clean work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware.
3. Store food properly in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage.
4. Prepare a variety of foods according to customer orders or supervisors' instructions, following approved procedures.
5. Work in hot and cold temperatures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Ability to read and interpret instructions and perform basic arithmetic in food preparation.
• At least one (1) year of experience in the food service industry.
• Must be able to stand, walk, and bend frequently.
• Must be able to lift or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted.

Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is required for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP). Receiving the annual seasonal influenza vaccination or obtaining an exemption for medical or religious reasons is a condition of employment for HCPs.
