Job summary

IKEA Food in New Haven, CT, is seeking a Food Service Team Member to help run IKEA Food operations with a focus on quality, safety and guest service. You will prepare and maintain menu items, handle cash, and support a clean, efficient dining area.

The role requires 34-40 hours weekly, shifts from 7 AM to 8 PM, and weekend availability. Benefits include PTO, parental leave, medical plans, and co-worker discounts to support work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years related experience.
• Food Handler Certification and/or Food Handler Card required within 30 days of employment.
• Experience in a high-volume customer facing environment preferred.
• Experience in a high-volume retail environment with knowledge of basic merchandising and selling concepts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain IKEA Food menu items according to the IKEA Food concept.
• Respond to customer inquiries to support informed purchases and process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain equipment operation through adherence to operating guidelines, troubleshooting breakdowns, and preventive/cleaning maintenance.
• Maintain a clean supply of dishes, silverware, cooking utensils, pots, pans, and trays.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of dining and play areas.
• Manage the Swedish Food Market by overseeing merchandising, pricing, stock rotation, and sanitization of sampling equipment.
• Ensure accurate and timely price communication across all food solutions, including digital platforms and shelf tags.
• Maintain supply rotation and stocking in all IKEA Food solutions following FIFO and expiration dates.
• Implement IKEA Food policies for goods receiving and monthly inventory.
• Adhere to safe food handling, workplace safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
• Contribute to an environment where the IKEA culture is a strong and living reality.
