Job summary

Trinity Services Group is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to oversee inmate labor and kitchen staff in a correctional facility. You will prepare and supervise meals, ensure sanitary storage and adhere to menus and recipes to meet nutritional requirements.

The role requires leadership, teamwork, and strong knowledge of food handling regulations, with weekends/holidays potential; full-time hours and benefits apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Supervise inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and service.
• Prepare or instruct inmate labor and team members in preparing foods according to recipes and work instructions.
• Ensure all food is stored properly and in sanitary manner.
• Serve food according to planned meal schedules and department policies.
• Utilize kitchen utensils/equipment to cook, prepare and serve food according to recipes; portion foods appropriately.
• Follow all food safety regulations pertaining to sanitation, handling and storage.
• Train other food service workers.
• Maintain a clean work area and equipment; clean refrigerators/freezers and cooking/serving gear.
• Follow facility uniform policy.
• Keep kitchen clean and ready for prep/serving including sweeping, mopping and dishwashing.
• Handle physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking and standing for long periods.
• Be on your feet for most of the shift.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members assisting with the food service operation in a correctional facility. You will also prepare and serve a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus and use a variety of food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food.

You will report to a Food Service Director.You will work onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts in the kitchen.

• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.

• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes. Use proper utensils to serve menued portions to meet clients' nutritional needs.

• Train other food service workers.

• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates.

• Physical demands include items such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.

• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.

• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

Must be open to Weekends/Weekdays (open availability)

2:00 am- 10:00am

What You'll Need

• Required:

  • We require a high school diploma or GED, and that you are at least 18 years of age.

• Preferred:

  • We prefer prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
