Job summary

Trinity Services Group is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to oversee inmate labor and kitchen staff inside a correctional facility. You will prepare and serve a variety of food items following menus and use kitchen equipment to ensure accurate portions and nutritional needs are met.

You will report to a Food Service Director and work on-site inside the facility. The ideal candidate is passionate about food service, understands handling regulations, and enjoys teamwork and learning new skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; minimum 18 years old.
• Experience in institutional food service or restaurant preferred.
• Ability to train others and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and kitchen team during food prep and service shifts.
• Serve meals according to planned schedules and procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils and equipment to prepare and portion foods per recipes.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment for staff and inmates.
• Stand for long periods and perform physical tasks as needed.

About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members assisting with the food service operation in a correctional facility. You will also prepare and serve a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus and use a variety of food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food.

You will report to a Food Service Director. You will work onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts in the kitchen.


• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.


• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes. Use proper utensils to serve menued portions to meet clients' nutritional needs.


• Train other food service workers.


• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates.


• Physical demands include items such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.


• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.


• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.
