Job Summary

This position pays $20.20 per hour. It is a Mission Critical role operating 365 days a year, 24/7, including nights until 2am, weekends, and holidays. The role involves working under the direction of the Project Manager, assisting in planning, creating processes and procedures, and managing customer service relations. You will coach staff, solve issues, and support employees to meet company, Sodexo, and Marine standards. Responsibilities include conducting daily huddles, overseeing safety, sanitation, and quality control, and performing duties as Project Manager in their absence.

Primary Duties

The following are key responsibilities:

  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures for daily operations.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety, sanitation, and customer service standards, aiming to meet and exceed Sodexo's 5-Star program daily.
  • Perform daily inspections of food service areas, equipment, and cleanliness to meet contract and QAE standards. Forward deficiency reports to the Project Manager.
  • Check HACCP logs for correct temperatures.
  • Hold pre-service meetings with staff.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Report unsafe or malfunctioning equipment immediately.
  • Communicate pertinent information to staff.
  • Utilize manpower efficiently during peak hours and employee breaks.
  • Assign breaks and cover shifts as needed.
  • Order supplies and maintain cleanliness.
  • Assist with employee training and handle shift receipts.
  • Write reports and provide recommendations as necessary.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of supervising 5-10 employees required; food service experience preferred.
  • Must pass ServSafe accreditation within 30 days of hire.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to set expectations, motivate staff, and resolve conflicts.
  • Effective time management and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Knowledge of sanitation, training, and security procedures.
  • Ability to interact effectively in a diverse environment.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, use hands, reach, climb, and stoop. Occasionally walk and sit. Must lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.

Work Environment

Moderate to loud noise levels typical of the work environment.
