Job summary

Courtesy Products, Inc. is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to oversee inmate labor and kitchen teams inside a correctional facility. The role involves preparing and serving meals according to menus and recipes, while using a variety of kitchen equipment to meet nutritional requirements.

The ideal candidate will have familiarity with food handling regulations, experience in institutional food service or restaurants, and a flexible, team-oriented mindset with weekend availability.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED and at least 18 years of age.
• Preferred prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes and portions to meet nutritional needs.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates.
• Physical demands include lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

About This Position

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 7:30am-6pm

The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members assisting with the food service operation in a correctional facility. You will also prepare and serve a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus and use a variety of food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food.

You will report to a Food Service Director. You will work onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts in the kitchen.


• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.


• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes. Use proper utensils to serve menued portions to meet clients' nutritional needs.


• Train other food service workers.


• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates.


• Physical demands include items such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.


• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
