Job summary

Trinity Services Group in the United States is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to oversee inmate labor and the kitchen team inside a correctional facility. You will prepare and serve a variety of meals following established menus and use standard kitchen equipment.

The role reports to a Food Service Director and is an onsite position. Ideal candidates will be passionate about food service, understand food handling regulations, be a strong team player, adaptable, and eager to learn.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Preferred: institutional food service or restaurant experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inmate labor and kitchen team during food prep and service.
• Serve meals according to posted schedules and procedures.
• Operate kitchen tools and cook per recipes; ensure proper portions and nutrition.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a safe, healthy work environment.
• Handle physical tasks including lifting and standing for long periods.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members assisting with the food service operation in a correctional facility. You will also prepare and serve a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus and use a variety of food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food.

You will report to a Food Service Director.You will work onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts in the kitchen.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes. Use proper utensils to serve menued portions to meet clients' nutritional needs.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates.
• Physical demands include items such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

What You'll Need

  • We prefer prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
