Job summary

Trinity Services Group is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to oversee inmate labor and kitchen teams in a correctional facility. You will prepare and serve meals, train staff, and ensure adherence to food safety rules while working a 9:15am–5:45pm schedule Fri–Tue.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; minimum 18 years of age.
• Preferred experience in institutional food service or restaurant settings.
• Ability to lead inmate labor and kitchen staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and kitchen staff during prep and service.
• Serve meals according to planned schedules and procedures.
• Prepare and cook food using recipes and equipment; portion meals to meet nutritional needs.
• Train other food service workers and promote safety.
• Maintain a healthy, safe work environment for staff and inmates.
• Physical tasks include lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.

About This Position

Must be available to work some weekends and holidays

Schedule is 9:15am to 5:45pm Friday through Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday off.

The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members assisting with the food service operation in a correctional facility. You will also prepare and serve a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus and use a variety of food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food.

You will report to a Food Service Director. You will work onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts in the kitchen.

• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.

• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes. Use proper utensils to serve menued portions to meet clients' nutritional needs.

• Train other food service workers.

• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates.

• Physical demands include items such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.

• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.

• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

What You'll Need

• Required:

  • We require a high school diploma or GED, and that you are at least 18 years of age.

• Preferred:

  • We prefer prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
