Job summary

The Virginia Center for Behavioral Rehabilitation (VCBR) seeks a Food Service Supervisor to lead kitchen operations, supervise multiple sections of a comprehensive food service system, and ensure hot and cold food production, sanitation, tray assembly, and storage meet quality standards.

You will assist management with cost control, food safety, service delivery, and customer satisfaction, provide coverage for kitchen operations, and be prepared to work emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• Experience in a Food Service setting as a supervisor is required.

Job Duties:

This position will act as a lead worker to assist manager and is responsible for supervising multiple sections of a comprehensive food service system in areas of hot and cold food production, sanitation, tray line assembly, tray transportation and food storage. This individual may share opening and closing operations management to closely supervise dietary cost control, food security, food quality, quality of service delivery, safety, and sanitation in a 7-day a week, 16 hour a day operation. Position will assist management with customer satisfaction and take an active role in both the identification and correction of departmental improvement plans. This position will provide coverage for kitchen operations and support the kitchen as needed. Position will be considered essential to operations and will be required to perform any/all duties listed in the EWP during emergency situations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• Experience in a Food Service setting as a supervisor is required.

Additional Considerations:

Safe Serve Certified preferred; ability to become Safe Serve certified within a year of employment will be considered. Experience in a forensic mental health or comparable setting preferred. Experience working with Sex Offenders preferred.
