Job summary

Trinity Services Group is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to oversee inmate labor and kitchen teams inside a correctional facility. The role involves preparing and serving various items, following menus, and using kitchen equipment according to recipes to meet nutritional needs.

You report to the Food Service Director and work onsite within a jail setting. The ideal candidate has passion for food service, knowledge of food handling regulations, and a willingness to learn and adapt in a team

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required, with 18+ years of age.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Preferred experience in institutional food service or restaurant settings.

Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and kitchen team during food prep and service shifts.
• Serve meals according to planned schedules and department procedures.
• Operate kitchen utensils/equipment and portion food to meet nutritional needs.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for staff and inmates.
• Stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks as needed.

About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members assisting with the food service operation in a correctional facility. You will also prepare and serve a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus and use a variety of food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food.

You will report to a Food Service Director. You will work onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts in the kitchen.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes. Use proper utensils to serve menued portions to meet clients' nutritional needs.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates.
• Physical demands include items such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

What You'll Need

• Required:
  • We require a high school diploma or GED, and that you are at least 18 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
• Preferred:
  • We prefer prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
