Job summary

Trinity Services Group is hiring a Food Service Supervisor to oversee inmate labor and kitchen staff in a correctional facility. You will prepare and serve a variety of meals, train staff, and follow menus and safety procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 18+ years old, and prior institutional food service experience. On-site work inside a jail/correctional facility with benefits and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inmate labor and kitchen team during food prep and service.
• Serve meals according to planned schedules and procedures.

• Train other food service workers.
• Maintain a healthy and safe work environment for staff and inmates.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
• Stand for extended shifts and be ready for other duties as assigned.

About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members assisting with the food service operation in a correctional facility. You will also prepare and serve a variety of food items following assigned work instructions and menus and use a variety of food preparation utensils and machines in preparing food.

You will report to a Food Service Director. You will work onsite inside of a jail/correctional facility.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities

• Manage inmate labor and team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts in the kitchen.
• Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department procedures.
• Use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook food according to recipes. Use proper utensils to serve menued portions to meet clients’ nutritional needs.
• Train other food service workers.
• Promote a healthy and safe work environment for other employees/inmates.
• Physical demands include items such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Be able to stand and be on your feet for much of the scheduled shift.
• Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.

What You'll Need

• Required:
  • We require a high school diploma or GED, and that you are at least 18 years of age.
  • We require prior institutional food service or restaurant experience.
