Job summary

The College of Lake County is seeking a Student Worker – Food Service in Café Willow. Responsibilities include customer checkout, barista tasks, food prep at multiple stations, and maintaining clean work areas in the Servery.

The role supports catering and Grab & Go operations while ensuring food safety and service standards. Candidates must be a CLC student enrolled in at least 6 credits for the Spring semester, and attach availability showing class schedule.

Job description

The Student Worker – Food Service positions are available for each semester in Café Willow. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: checking out customers, barista, preparing food at multiple stations, wiping tables, wiping out microwaves, re-stocking retail items, preparing for catering or Grab and Go, plating food for customers, cleaning stations in Servery area, and washing dishes.

Required Qualification(s)

-Must be a CLC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits for the Spring semester
-Must attach current semester hours of availability to work NOT only class schedule
-Looking for coverage for all shifts

Desired Qualification(s)

-Prior customer service experience
-Must be dependable and prompt
-Must have good communication skills
-Money handling/barista/food prep experience preferred but not necessary
-Must be a quick learner

Special Instructions Summary

Applicants will be busy and on their feet during their work shift. Applicants will be required to attach their availability and class schedule for the upcoming semester. Applicants will be required to follow a food service dress code of black pants and non slip shoes with hats and shirts provided..

Work Schedule

Shifts available are based on student’s class schedule and needs of food services. Shifts will vary during food service hours of operations which are Monday – Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.Fridays 6:30-4:45. Position runs through the end of the academic year and students can carry over semester to semester. CURRENTLY Looking for ALL positions.
