Job summary

Compass Group USA's Chartwells Higher Ed is hiring a seasonal Food Service Worker at Aurora University. This on‑campus, part‑time student role offers 10–15 hours per week with a fixed pay rate of $15.00 per hour.

You will assist with prep, food presentation, serving customers, cleaning stations and following safety and portion-control guidelines. Prior food service experience is welcome but not required; on‑site training is provided and benefits include an on‑campus job and a shift meal.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, washes, peels, cuts and seeds fruits/vegetables.
• Weighs and measures ingredients.
• Carries pans, kettles and trays safely between stations.
• Stores food with proper wrapping, dating and rotation.
• Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Distributes supplies and utensils.
• Follows recipes and portion controls for quality and serving temperatures.
• Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner.
• Resolves customer concerns and relays information to supervisor.
• Ensures compliance with safety, sanitation and cash control procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Summary: Prepares, presents and serves food as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Weighs and measures designated ingredients.
• Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards.
• Stores food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures.
• Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Utilizes approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.
• Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service.
• Resolves customer concerns and relays relevant information to supervisor.
• Ensures compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.
• Assures compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
