Job summary

YMCA of the Rockies is seeking a Food Service Worker to provide guests with a positive dining experience at our Estes Park Center, Snow Mountain Ranch, or Camp Chief Ouray locations.

The role involves rotating through a variety of duties, including meal service, ticket handling, and maintaining clean dining areas. Must be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 35 pounds, and work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.
• Experience in a fast-paced dining or food service environment preferred.
• Ability to maintain sanitary dining and work areas and follow safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sanitary work and dining areas that meet and exceed health standards.
• Operate commercial food service equipment (dishwasher, slicer, mixer) as needed.
• Assist with meal preparation and serving, checking guest tickets at the check stand.
• Keep dining lines and service areas stocked with food, cups, plates, and supplies.
• Wash dishes, sweep/mop floors, and clean bathrooms; vacuum as needed.
• Able to stand for eight hours and lift up to 35 pounds; English comprehension required.

Overview

Two Centers. One Mission. YMCA of the Rockies is the largest YMCA camp and conference center in the world, operating two globally known centers in the heart of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Both centers operate 365 days a year.

Locations and Current Hiring

• Estes Park Center – Bordered on three sides by Rocky Mountain National Park, offers 800 acres of scenic views, family activities, and wildlife viewing on the eastern slope of the Continental Divide. Position Summary

The Food Service Worker is responsible for providing guests with a positive dining experience. Employees rotate daily through a variety of specific duties as described below.

Essential Functions

• Maintain a positive and professional attitude toward guests and staff.


• Maintain sanitary work and dining areas, which exceed state health standards.


• Operate commercial food service equipment (e.g., dishwasher, slicer, and mixer).


• Assist with meal preparation.


• Keep service lines clean and fully stocked with food and supplies (plates, cups, etc.).


• Clean dining tables.


• Wash dishes.


• Vacuum carpets, sweep, and mop floors.


• Clean bathrooms.


• Able to stand for eight hours on concrete floors.


• Lift 35 pounds up to 36" off the ground.


• Able to understand instructions in English.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Check and sell meal guest tickets at the \"check stand\".


• Operate cash register and balance cash box.


• All other duties as assigned.
