Job summary

Health & Human Services Comm is seeking a Food Service Worker II at Terrell State Hospital. You will attend shifts, assist in preparing and portioning meals, and help serve and clean in a psychiatric care environment.

Qualifications

• Must possess or be willing to obtain a food safety certification within six months of employment.
• 6 months experience in food service work preferred.
• Paid or unpaid experience in food service work; or prior paid work experience.

Responsibilities

• Attends work regularly and may follow a specific or rotating shift schedule.
• Assists in preparation and portioning of food for special diets.
• Prepares snacks and supplements and maintains snack supplies.
• Distributes food safely and in accordance with food service policies.
• Assists in serving food and follows proper food handling procedures.
• Receives deliveries from vendors and handles related paperwork.
• Maintains sanitation of kitchen, dining, and food prep areas.
• Trains new kitchen staff and supports disaster response and COOP activities.
