A vacancy for a full-time Food Services Manager exists within the Administrative Services division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU).
Summary Of Position
This position is responsible for all aspects of food service operations/production, year-round, for seventeen facilities that served 216,000 breakfasts and 235,500 lunches during the 2023-24 school year. This includes five cafeterias, one on-site cooking program at the Gordon Early Learning Center, and twelve satellite programs and/or locations. Locations include nine Head Start/Childcare locations, one school for the blind, and the CCIU Changes and SKL locations/programs. This also involves serving meals during summer under the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) for the extended school year (ESY), camps, and/or other programs.
This position is responsible for establishing policies and procedures for the School Nutrition Programs that the Intermediate Unit operates, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and district regulations. This includes adherence to the School Breakfast Program (SBP), National School Lunch Program (NSLP), Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), and USDA guidelines, including commodity election processes and regulations. The role also involves providing leadership for new location services and expanding catering offerings.
This position offers leadership, direction, and support to the Cafeteria Manager and Assistant Food Service Manager, serving as back-up as needed. The base schedule is 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., with potential schedule adjustments to meet organizational needs.
