Job summary

Stanford University’s Residential & Dining Enterprises seeks a Food Service Worker to prepare hot foods, sauces, and casseroles in a busy dining operation. You may lead small teams, coordinate orders, and ensure proper portions and safety standards across shifts.

With three years of kitchen experience, you will follow standardized recipes, manage storeroom duties, and assist in inventory and deliveries as needed.

Qualifications

• Three years’ experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
• Must understand and communicate in English.
• Ability to obtain California Food Handler Training Certificate.
• If delivering, valid California Non-commercial Class Driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare hot foods including entrees, vegetables, starches, sauces, and gravies.
• In a small dining hall, may prepare all menu items.
• Coordinates work of helpers.
• Orders supplies from storeroom as needed.
• Stores and records leftovers and discusses use with supervisor.
• Receives, marks, records and verifies deliveries against orders, reports discrepancies to management.
• Rotates stock and maintains storage.
• Maintains sanitation and safety as per guidelines.
• Gathers counts and bags laundry for pick-up if applicable.
