Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada is seeking a Food Service Intake Specialist - Bilingual to support our Food Pantry operations. This role focuses on guest service with dignity, handles admissions, and maintains HMIS records, communicating in English and Spanish.

You will assist volunteers, process transactions, and help with daily reports while safeguarding confidential information. A High School Diploma and Spanish bilingual ability are required; the position offers competitive benefits

Position Summary:

The position assists with the day-to-day operations of Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada’s Food Division (Food Pantry) The Food Service Intake Specialist-Bilingual will focus on cultivating and consistently reinforcing the Guest Service culture anchored with dignity and respect for all Guests, Volunteers and Staff.

Essential Responsibilities

• Enter admissions information into HMIS and internal database
• Convey information to guests in both English and Spanish
• Maintain HMIS and SAMS databases for compliance, as required.
• Complete required daily, weekly and monthly reports with accuracy and in a timely manner
• Audit new guest paperwork and correct errors
• Complete all admission paperwork and file in appropriate boxes.
• Assist with assignments of Volunteers and Tracking Volunteer hours
• Provides premier guest service, including greeting guests and answering their questions
• Ability to transact sales and exchange money accurately including debit/credit cards and cash.
• Participate in dining special events and sponsored meals on holidays and special occasions.
• Instruct clients on the protocol of amounts of food allowed
• Report any Maintenance issues to the area supervisor
• Scan, file or copy food service documents
• Answers phones and completes all clerical tasks
• Work in all areas of the food division as needed (Food Pantry, Dining Room and Kitchen)
• Protect all confidential information, company property and electronic data. Comply with safety rules.
• Other related duties as directed

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, value human dignity and ability to work with a diverse population.
• Able to read, write and do simple math problems
• Working knowledge of available community services to meet client needs.
• Knowledge of all Agency policies, including safety.
• Customer service experience highly preferred
• Ability to readily communicate with clients and co-workers
• Computer knowledge in Excel, Word; experience with HMIS preferred but not required
• Capable of diffusing difficult situations with a desired positive outcome.
• Possesses a valid Clark County health card.
• Flexible schedule to work after regular business hours, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Bilingual (Spanish ) required
• A positive attitude and ability to work with a wide variety of people.
• Knowledge of Office Suite programs, internet, and web-based email, as well as software and technology typically found in the workplace.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to operate and use office equipment, especially computer, keyboard and mouse.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs., push up to 200 pounds on a push cart, and enter walks ins -10 degrees with or without assistance
• Ability to sit for duration of shift, walk frequently, bend, and reach to a height of 6 feet with or without assistance. Employees will be required to stand, sit, walk, lift, reach, push, pull, grasp and navigate safely within all environments commonly found within the Food Services Division

This position pays $18.00 per hour. Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada offers an excellent benefits package, including insurance benefits, paid time off, and retirement plan.
