Food Service Associate

Job Purpose

Every Huck's Market Food Service Associate plays a key role in running the food service area smoothly and effectively. By following company guidelines, Associates help ensure the department stays profitable while delivering quality food and excellent customer service.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure the food service department is open and ready for business during food service hours.
• Provide prompt and courteous service to all customers.
• Communicate effectively with store associates.
• Follow all federal, state, and local laws and ordinances related to store operation.
• Control food preparation to minimize waste while ensuring enough for customers.

Human Resources

• Treat all associates with dignity and respect.
• Inform the store manager of personnel issues or policy violations affecting store performance.
• Assist in training new associates on their job duties.

Security

• Follow all associate shift procedures.
• Maintain a safe shopping and working environment.
• Ensure safety rules are followed and protective equipment is used.

Merchandising

• Use current plan-o-grams.
• Communicate any special needs or requests to the manager.
• Alert the manager about ordering needs to prevent stockouts and maintain inventory levels.

Huck’s Bucks Loyalty App

• Promote the Huck’s Bucks Loyalty app to customers.
• Explain the benefits of signing up and using the app.
• Monitor transactions for misuse of points or discounts.
• Assist customers with app sign-up and usage for discounts and redemptions.

Maintenance

• Maintain the appearance of the food service area per company standards.
• Keep display cases and glass clean.
• Report maintenance issues that cannot be immediately fixed.
• Ensure sanitation procedures are followed and areas are kept clean.

Safety

• Use ladders properly.
• Follow lifting procedures as per policy.
• Use wet floor signs appropriately.
• Report accidents promptly to management.
