Job summary

Kenmore Tonawanda UFSD is seeking a part-time Food Service Helper to assist with preparing, cooking and serving meals in the district’s food program. Eligible candidates will cashier, wash and sanitize utensils, and support other food service tasks as directed by Cook Managers.

Shifts run from 10:30am to 1:30pm (3 hours per day, 15 hours per week) on a 10-month duty schedule; incumbents must be able to lift 40 lb. cases and follow simple written and oral directions.

Qualifications

• Some experience in domestic work, including food service and ability to read and write English.

• Food Service Helpers are to work cooperatively with the Cook Managers and others on any jobs assigned.
• Must be available to work hours as stated above.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Elementary knowledge of the proper method of serving food and the care of tableware, glassware, silver and kitchen appliances; practical working knowledge of modern cleaning methods and the use of cleaning supplies and appliances; ability to follow simple oral and written directions; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. (Must be able to lift 40 lb. cases).

Minimum Qualifications:Some experience in domestic work, including food service and ability to read and write English, or any equivalent combination of the foregoing training and experience.
