Title: Food Service Helper

Qualifications

• Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced work environment.

• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Regular and predictable attendance.
• Qualified to be employed as a Food Service Helper per Civil Service and NYS Education Department guidelines.
• Working knowledge of food service and related activities.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic computations.
• Ability to lift and maneuver kitchen equipment, materials, and objects as needed.

Responsibilities

• Attend meetings as needed.
• Follow directives (written, oral, electronic).
• Receive and store food, supplies, and chemicals.
• Work on tray lines, placing food and beverages on trays according to menu and diet requirements.
• Portion and serve food.
• Perform cashier duties, receive cash for sales, and keep accounting records.
• Wash dishes, pots, and pans by hand or machine.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
• Maintain data security as applicable.
• Maintain confidentiality with staff, students, and family information.
• Operate in a respectful, responsible manner.

Reports to: Director of Food Services

Salary: As per the contract between Victor Central Schools and the CSEA Unit

2024/2025 School Year: Starting rate: $15.55/hour (Negotiable based on experience)
