Job summary

Elior Collegiate Dining is seeking a seasoned Food Service Manager at the University of Wisconsin - Parkside Campus. You will oversee the entire food service department, hire and train staff, and ensure compliance with culinary, safety, and sanitation standards while meeting budget targets.

Responsibilities include direct purchasing, forecasting, and coordinating with the district manager on dining service operations, while addressing customer service needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years coordinating food service operations.
• Experience with industrial cooking.
• Excellent communication with hourly staff and executives.
• Ability to manage in diverse environments with strong customer service focus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

What you'll be doing:

• Managing all functions of the food service department and its resources.
• Manage and lead a team of associates, including hiring and training new employees.
• Ensuring that staff meet all culinary, safety, and sanitation standards and regulations.
• Budgeting for the department, including directly purchasing ingredients and ensuring the account meets all targets and forecasts.
• Conferring with the district manager or other departments regarding the technical and administrative aspects of dining service.
• Addressing customer service needs.

What we’re looking for:

Must-haves:

• At least five years of experience coordinating food service operations.
• Previous experience with industrial cooking.
• Excellent communication skills and experience communicating with both hourly staff and company executives.
• The ability to manage in a diverse environment with a strong focus on client and customer services and satisfaction.
• Experience with and knowledge of all Microsoft Office suite applications.

Nice-to-haves:

• Previous experience in collegiate or education dining services
• Previous experience in food service contract management
• ServSafe and/or HACCP certification

Compensation Range

Up to $90,000 per year depending on experience
