Job summary

CN BROWN BIG APPLE in Orland, ME is seeking a dedicated food service worker to prepare and serve hot and cold items in a quick-service setting. You will set up areas, handle orders, follow recipes, and maintain food safety and cleanliness while delivering friendly customer service.

The role may include evenings, weekends and holidays with shifts around 9 AM to 8 PM; pay ranges from $17.45 to $18.45 per hour, plus benefits such as 401(k), 401(k) matching and paid time off.

Job description

Performs a wide range of duties involved with preparing and/or serving foods in one or more of a variety of food service environments. May perform duties, which include; preparing salad items, hot and cold foods, fried foods, customer order requests, as appropriate to the position. Duties also include cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment, utensils, small-wares and similar. Assists in the set-up, service, collecting of garbage/trash; as appropriate to the area of operation. Will serve food to customers and maintain record keeping of all logs pertaining to spoilage, fryer logs, and warmer logs. Must provide excellent customer service and adhere to recipes at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up food service area, equipment and utensils, under detailed instruction from supervisor, in accordance with specific area needs; checks food temperatures and/or prepares areas for daily operations; operates cooking equipment as required.
• Conveys food and supplies from the walk-in cooler, freezer, or dry storage area to the serving/cooking area either by carrying or by utilizing a cart.
• Follow proper procedure when setting up hot and cold food displays and prep coolers.
• Prepare hot and cold sandwiches, pizza, fried food, salads, and/or other similar food items for display in both cold and warm display units.
• Serve food items to customers from a hot food warmer or by making menu items per request.
• Replenish plastic-ware, napkins, condiments as needed.
• Keep a clean and maintained work area, including- floors, walk-in coolers and freezers, prep coolers, food warmers, small-wares, sinks, and all other food service equipment. Collect cardboard and trash and place in designated containers.
• Wash all pots, pans, utensils, and other small-wares ensuring sanitary handling and proper organization of such items.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Must follow all food safety guidelines
• Must follow uniform policy at all times.
• May work a varying schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
