Job summary

IKEA Portland is hiring a part-time Food Service Team Member to support IKEA Food operations. You will prepare menu items, assist customers, and ensure safe food handling, cleanliness, and friendly service.

You will maintain dining areas, manage Swedish Food Market merchandising, and participate in inventory and pricing accuracy. The role requires 2 years in a similar setting and a Food Handler certification within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years related experience.
• Experience in a high-volume customer facing environment preferred.
• Experience in a high-volume retail environment with basic merchandising knowledge preferred
• Food Handler Certification and/or Food Handler Card required within 30 days of employment

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain IKEA Food menu items according to the IKEA Food concept, following health and sustainability standards.
• Respond to customer inquiries to support informed purchases and process sales transactions with cash handling policies.
• Maintain equipment operation and perform preventive maintenance and cleaning.
• Keep dining areas, dishes, and utensils clean and organized per Food Safety Standards.
• Oversee the Swedish Food Market merchandising, pricing, stock rotation, and sanitization of sampling areas.
• Ensure accurate price communication across all food solutions, including digital platforms and shelf tags.
• Follow FIFO and inventory procedures and report concerns to managers.

• Maintain a clean supply of dishes, silverware, cooking utensils, pots, pans, and trays that comply with Food Safety Standards.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of dining and play areas.
• Manage the Swedish Food Market by overseeing merchandising, pricing, stock rotation, and the cleaning and sanitization of sampling equipmentand areas.
• Ensure accurate and timely price communication across all food solutions, including digital platforms, menu boards, and shelf tags.
• Maintain supply rotation and stocking in all IKEA Food solutions, adhering to First In, First Out (FIFO), expiration dates, and sustainability standards.
• Implements IKEA Food policies and procedures for goods receiving and monthly inventory.
• Adhere to safe food handling, workplace safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations, promptly reporting concerns to managers.
• Contribute to an environment where the IKEA culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co-workers and customers

The hourly pay range for this role is $18.67 - $26.37

The starting rate/ salary for this position ranges from 18.67 USD to 26.37 USD and will be based on relevant work experience.
