Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Dietetic Technician to support the Food Service department, handling patient and guest meal orders, calorie counting, and daily dining program tasks.

Responsibilities include charting calorie counts, updating nourishment cards, and delivering meals while collaborating with nursing and kitchen staff. ANSI Food Handler Training must be completed within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• ANSI Accredited Food Handler Training required within 30 days.
• Strong customer service and phone handling skills.
• Experience with food service or dietary support is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and direct calls to the appropriate person.

• Record and calculate calorie counts, including weekend charts.
• Post costs for meals in the computer system and on nourishment cards.

Overview

The Dietetic Technician provides the Food Service department with the work required in the operation of the diet office. Functions as a Dining Service operator.

Responsibilities

Answers phones in accordance with customer service standards and directs calls to appropriate person. Processes the patient/guest food orders in the Dining Service computer. Completes diet changes coming off the order entry computer. Collects, posts, and calculates calorie counts. Charts calorie counts on weekends. Costs-out the food-to-floor orders. Posts the costs into the computer program. Processes physician lunch orders. Keeps the nourishment cardex updated. Orders nourishments through dining program. Completes the monthly diet office reports. Keeps the kitchen informed of the patient census and the Rehab Unit census. Assists in training new diet techs. Delivers patient/guest trays, grievance trays and assists on traylineas needed.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $16.52per hour - $26.76per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health.
