Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Clinical Dietitian to provide Medical Nutrition Therapy to patients of all ages on assigned nursing units and to consult with Carle Home Care. The role also represents the Hospital Food Service on the Diabetes Team.

The position requires a Bachelor's Degree, Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (IDFPR), and Registered Dietitian (CDR). You will contribute to patient education, menu planning, and interdisciplinary care conferences.

Responsibilities

• Manages nutritional care for patients on assigned units, including screening, planning, MNT, and education for patients and families.
• Guides and educates pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients toward nutritionally balanced diets with appropriate comprehension.
• Assists in planning patient menus and monitors food quality; utilizes nutrition resources (NCM).
• Participates in the scheduled test tray program and provides learning experiences for dietetic interns.
• Collaborates with other disciplines in unit interdisciplinary care conferences and assists with in-service training for diet office staff.

Qualifications

• Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
• Registered Dietitian (RD) - Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)

Responsibilities

• Manages nutritional care forpatientson assigned units(nutritional care includes but is not limited to: screening for nutritional status, nutrition care planning, providing MNT, providing nutrition education to patients and families).
• Creatively guides and educates pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients toward a nutritionally balanced diet. Is aware of patient level of comprehension so that it may be followed and understood.
• Assists in planning the patient menu and monitors food quality.
• Effectively and accurately utilizes the NCM and other nutrition related resources.
• Participates in the scheduled test tray program.
• Provides learning experience for dietetic interns as outlined in their program.
• Actively participates with other disciplines in unit interdisciplinary care conferences.
• Assists with in-service training for diet office personnel and staff.
• Consults to Carle Home Care as required by the licensing agencies.
• Assists in the development of patient education materials.
• Provides continual monitoring of patients on assigned nursing units to ensure quality of nutrition care services.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $26.1per hour - $43.59per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health.
