Job summary

EL CAMO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a Food Service Delivery employee to receive, store, issue and deliver a variety of materials, food and supplies within the district's facilities. This nonexempt, 180-day position supports food service with accurate recordkeeping and timely deliveries to multiple locations.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED preferred, an excellent driving record and a current food handlers license.

Responsibilities

• Assemble orders for delivery based on requisitions; delivers supplies to appropriate locations; receives returned items and labels for storage.
• Performs custodial duties in storeroom and adjacent premises; sweeps floors; disposes of rubbish from offices.
• Washes and cleans van to maintain sanitary standards.
• Completes paperwork for van repairs and services.
• Assists in maintaining stock records; assists in regular inventories.
• Exhibits patience, courtesy and tact then dealing with others.
• Promote teamwork and interaction with fellow staff members.
• Perform other duties as requested by the Food Service Manager whenever his/her duties and/or experience would be necessary to initiate, coordinate or complete any given program.

Primary Purpose:

Responsible for receiving, storing, issuing and delivering a variety of materials, food and supplies.

Duties include maintenance of routine records, packaging items, custodial tasks, rearranging storage space, and participating in weekly inventories. Maintains high standards of proper handling, storing and transporting of food to maintain safe, sanitary and high quality food.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

High school diploma or GED preferred

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations

Ability to do sustained lifting of up to 50 pounds

Knowledge of the handling, storage and issuing of various kinds and grades of perishables, supplies, materials, and equipment

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard large and small kitchen equipment and tools including electric slicer, mixer, pressure steamer, sharp cutting tools, stove, oven, dishwasher, and food/utility cart

Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stoop, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Motion: Continual walking; frequent climbing (ladder), grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching/overhead reaching

Lifting: Frequent moderate lifting and carrying (15–50 pounds)

Environment: Work inside in commercial kitchen environment; exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, extreme humidity, noise, vibration, microwaves, biological hazards (bacteria, mold, fungi), chemical hazards (fumes, vapors, gases), electrical hazards; work with hands in water; work around machinery with moving parts; work on slippery surfaces
