Job summary

H-E-B is seeking a Food Service Representative to maintain a well-stocked department and deliver outstanding customer service. You will prepare, package, and merchandise fresh products daily while ensuring all food safety and sanitation standards are met.

In this role you will assist customers, take orders, rotate inventory, and support bakery, deli, and prepared foods sections as needed, working in a fast-paced retail environment and contributing to department sales.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Completion of Company Orientation.
• Food safety and sanitation training upon hire.
• Knowledge of computer systems and equipment (e.g., PC, scales, label machine).
• Strong customer service, communication, and reading/writing skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
• 18+ years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provides superior customer service and answers questions to assist product selections.
• Takes orders from customers by telephone or in person and assists with selections.
• Prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product daily while maintaining standards.
• Cleans and sanitizes display cases and operates equipment while complying with safety standards.
• Assists in bakery, deli, and prepared foods tasks as needed (e.g., baking, decorating, order preparation).
• Uses system applications and ensures items are rotated and labeled correctly.
