Job summary

Gabriel’s Child Development Academy in Shreveport, LA is seeking a Food Service Coordinator who loves cooking, cleaning, and serving little smiling faces. The role focuses on preparing meals, ensuring licensing compliance, and maintaining a clean, compliant kitchen.

You will manage CACFP, plan nutritious menus, and coordinate with the director to keep the kitchen well stocked while adhering to safety and health standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with food service for children is preferred.
• Ability to follow licensing regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all foods meet Louisiana Early Learning Center Licensing regulations and the Louisiana Sanitary Code.
• Manage CACFP and participate in USDA trainings (training to be provided).
• Maintain hygiene and safety of the kitchen in accordance with state licensing requirements.
• Plan menus in accordance with nutritional guidelines and food restrictions.
• Prepare, cook and deliver meals.
• Make a grocery list and coordinate with the director for ordering supplies.
• Follow all center policies.
• Maintain personal professional development plan for continuous quality improvement.
• Keep a clean kitchen sweep, mop, wipe down walls and appliances.

Qualifications/Responsibilities

• Ensure all foods meet the guidelines in Louisiana Early Learning Center Licensing regulations (Bulletin 137) and the Louisiana Sanitary Code.
• Manage USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and participate in USDA trainings. (Training to be provided)
• Maintain hygiene and safety of the kitchen in accordance with state licensing requirements.
• Plan menus in accordance with nutritional guidelines and food restrictions.
• Prepare, cook and deliver meals.
• Make a grocery list and give to director to order so food and related supplies to ensure a well-stocked kitchen.
• Follow all center policies.
• Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
• Keep a clean kitchen sweep, mop, wipe down walls, kitchen appliances, etc.

Schedule

Monday–Friday

8-hour workday 6:00am-2:00pm can leave earlier if all task has been completed
