Job Summary
Responsible for supporting all aspects of the retail areas, including coffee shops, catering, and physician lounges. Additional functions include cleaning food preparation and customer seating areas, stocking work and storage areas, and maintaining inventory. Provides prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintains a clean, comfortable environment.
Job Specific Duties
- Ensures positive customer experiences by greeting customers warmly, acting with a customer-first attitude, connecting with customers, and providing service recovery when needed.
- Educates customers by presenting menus, answering questions about products and ingredients, and verbally confirming orders.
- Prepares all drink and food orders to company standards, ensuring quality and presentation.
- Follows standards for stocking, restocking, rotating, and storing food and supplies, adhering to FIFO principles.
- Follows safety and security policies to ensure a safe environment during each shift.
- Maintains a calm demeanor during busy periods, setting a positive example for staff and customers.
- Ensures a safe and sanitary work environment by following hygiene protocols, conducting temperature audits, and reporting issues.
- Practices infection control by hand washing, sanitizing, wearing gloves, and cleaning surfaces and equipment.
- Maintains clean and stocked workstations and notifies the production team of shortages.
- Operates equipment following manufacturer instructions and procedures.
- Assists in distributing weekly shipments and stocking supplies.
- Participates in training and departmental in-services.
- Supports catering setup and breakdown, including arranging tables, linens, and tableware.
- Reports customer complaints, hazards, accidents, and operational issues to supervisors.
- Covers various positions to support team members during breaks.
Qualifications
Minimum Job Requirements
- Active SafeStaff Certification required within 30 days of hire.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety is a plus.
- Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Cooperative and constructive relationship-building with customers and coworkers.
- Basic computer and printer skills; ability to learn relevant software.
- Spanish language skills are helpful.
- Ability to follow instructions for repetitive tasks.
- Ability to operate and maintain food service equipment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and team orientation.
- Positive, friendly, and enthusiastic interaction with public and staff.
- Quick learner with product and procedure knowledge.
