Job description

Purpose:

Responsible for the timely assembly, final preparation, and service of nutritionally appropriate and attractive meals. Practices proper food handling techniques and food safety procedures in all aspects of the job. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills consistently.

Shifts:

This position will involve various shifts, including rotating weekends.

Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure necessary food and service equipment/utensils are secured for the assigned area prior to meal service.
  2. Adhere to department procedures regarding the operation of all food service equipment.
  3. Perform additional responsibilities based on Facility/Department requirements, such as inventorying and stocking supplies following established procedures and timeframes.
  4. Serve patient meals using the designated script, ensuring proper patient identification.
  5. Bus and sanitize tables and chairs; deliver meals to residents' rooms upon request.
  6. Set tables for the upcoming meal according to Food Service Guidelines Manual.
  7. Assemble and serve meals according to diet orders, menus, and specific requirements of patients or guests.
  8. Maintain food safety and quality standards mandated by relevant health departments.
  9. Follow hand hygiene and infection control procedures consistently when interacting with customers.
  10. Perform sanitation of the assigned work area following departmental procedures and health guidelines.
