Job summary

Default Brand is hiring a Food Service Associate for the New West Side Location in Sioux Falls. This role offers Full-Time and Part-Time positions with a shift structure designed to provide 30–40 hours weekly for full-time staff and up to 30 hours for part-time staff.

Responsibilities include supporting foodservice operations and assisting with POS duties as needed, while delivering friendly customer service in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 16 years of age or older, required.
• Previous experience in foodservice and/or retail environment preferred.
• Great customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Able to communicate effectively with customers, employees, vendors and management.
• Able to read, write, hear, clearly speak and understand the English language.
• Able to perform basic math calculations to make correct change and complete shift reports.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work extended hours.
• Able to stand for 8-10 hours and work in various environments.

We have Full Time and Part Time positions available.

Food service Associates must be energetic and enthusiastic who enjoy meeting people and working in a fast-pace environment. Food service Associates perform a variety of duties related to our foodservice operations and may assist with point of sale operation so it’s very important to be flexible and to enjoy working with others. Part-time Associates will be scheduled various hours based on availability up to 30hours per week and is eligible for some- but not all - of our company's benefits.Full-time Associates are scheduled 30 - 40 hours per week and is eligible for our company's full benefits.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED preferred. 16 years of age or older, required.
• Previous experience in foodservice and/or retail environment preferred.
• Great customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Able to communicate effectively with customers, employees, vendors and management. Able to read, write, hear, clearly speak and understand the English language.
• Able to perform basic math calculations to make correct change to customer and accurately complete shift reports. Good accuracy and attention to detail. Able to multi-task.
• Able to carry, push/pull, reach and lift up to 50 pounds alone. Carry out trash containers and lift to place in outside bin. Occasional use of step ladder. Occasional bend, kneel, stoop, squat and reaching over shoulder height.
• Prolonged walking or standing for up to 8-10 continuous hours including but limited to a concrete or tile surface.
• Able to sweep/mop and maintain interior/exterior lots/ground and equipment; shovel snow.
• Able to work alone and/or with others; work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Able to enter and work in freezer and coolers at temperature of 10 degrees up to 30 minutes at a time.
• Able to tolerate exposure to gasoline fumes and cleaning products.
