GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This role involves preparing and serving meals to patients, staff, visitors, and catering clients. Responsibilities include maintaining sanitation of equipment and work areas, handling food service transactions, operating registers, and assisting with food service. Additionally, the role requires washing all china, silverware, pots, and pans used in food preparation or service.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Use proper food handling, portioning, and storage techniques according to departmental standards and regulations. Maintain, assemble, and stock sufficient food items, products, and supplies. (20%)
2. Perform register duties to process customer transactions following established procedures. Communicate menu items, specials, and pricing. (20%)
3. Carry out dish room and pot room duties efficiently to ensure availability of clean supplies. (20%)
4. Dispose of trash according to procedures; clean and sanitize containers to meet sanitation guidelines. (20%)
5. Maintain sanitation and safety standards in accordance with departmental and regulatory requirements. (20%)
6. Perform other duties as assigned and required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum:

• High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months related experience/training; or equivalent education/experience.
• Basic computer and math skills, including handling money and making change.

Preferred:

• Experience in food services.
