GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This role involves monitoring other associates in the absence of a supervisor, preparing and serving meals to patients, employees, visitors, and catering customers, maintaining sanitation of equipment and work areas, handling money and operating registers, and assisting with food service. The position also includes washing all china, silverware, pots, and pans used in food preparation and service.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Follow proper food handling, portioning, and storage techniques according to departmental standards and regulations. Maintain and stock adequate food items and supplies. (20%)
  2. Process customer transactions at the register, communicate menu items, specials, and pricing. (20%)
  3. Perform dish room and pot room duties efficiently to ensure availability of clean supplies. (20%)
  4. Dispose of trash according to procedures; clean and sanitize containers to meet sanitation guidelines. (20%)
  5. Maintain sanitation and safety standards per departmental and regulatory requirements. (10%)
  6. Assist management in coordinating daily activities. (10%)
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months related experience/training; or equivalent education/experience.
  • 3-5 years of food service experience.
  • Basic computer and math skills, including ability to handle money and make change.
