Supervisory Responsibility: No

Work Schedule: 7 AM to 3:30 PM, 12 PM to 8:30 PM, or 4 PM to 8:30 PM, rotating weekends. Work schedule shifts will be determined by the department.

Job Description

Depending on the size of the entity and department structure, Level I and Level II duties may be combined.

Level I
  • Perform routine tasks and manual work under supervision in support of hospital food service operations.
  • Operate dish machine, wash pots, perform heavy cleaning duties.
  • Transport equipment, food, supplies, and refuse as directed.
Level II
  • Prepare, serve, and deliver food, ensuring proper portioning and sanitation.
  • Operate and monitor food service equipment, maintain inventory, and assist in catering functions.
  • May function as a cashier, calculating costs, accepting payments, and managing cash/tickets.
Qualifications

Experience:

  • Level I: No experience required.
  • Level II: At least six months of food service experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to lift/push/pull 50 pounds.
  • Ability to read/write, follow instructions, and operate food preparation equipment.
  • Strong customer service skills, basic math, and computer skills for Level II.
