Position: Fresh Foods Clerk

The fresh foods clerk manages daily operations of the store's deli/foodservice, ensuring sanitation, store appearance, and excellent customer service while following company policies. A passion for food and customer service is essential.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Providing friendly and positive customer interactions, including greetings, product information, and sampling.
• Ensuring fast, friendly service and processing transactions accurately.
• Monitoring product pricing, signage, and placement.
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the sales area.
• Preparing, wrapping, weighing, slicing, and stocking deli/food items, ensuring quality and safety.
• Cooking and preparing deli items like fried foods, salads, sandwiches, and beverages.
• Working safely around equipment like slicers and ovens.
• Displaying products according to guidelines.
• Taking and fulfilling customer orders timely and satisfactorily.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings; willingness to assist at other locations.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
• Serv-Safe certification preferred.
• Enthusiasm for learning and a love of food.
• Courteous, helpful, and efficient work ethic.
• Basic math skills and familiarity with register and equipment operation.
• Ability to read labels, signage, and codes.
• Knowledge of deli ingredients and food preparation.
• Good communication skills and physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs, work in coolers, and stand for long periods.
