Duties and Responsibilities:

A Food Service Associate is responsible for the daily operations of the store's deli/foodservice, ensuring sanitation, store appearance, and excellent customer service while following company policies. This role requires a passion for food and serving customers.

• Maintain a positive, friendly attitude towards customers and team members.
• Engage with customers through greetings, product information, sampling, and expressing gratitude.
• Provide fast, friendly customer service.
• Process transactions accurately at the register, including giving change and refunds.
• Use scale printers correctly, ensuring weights and pricing are accurate.
• Monitor product pricing, signage, and placement, including shelf tags and signage.
• Keep the check stand and work areas clean and organized.
• Prepare, wrap, weigh, slice, and stock deli/foodservice items, rotating stock for quality and safety.
• Cook and prepare deli items like fried foods, salads, sandwiches, roller grill items, and beverages.
• Work safely around equipment like slicers, ovens, and burners.
• Display products according to merchandising guidelines.
• Take customer orders, ensuring timely and satisfactory fulfillment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Position Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Flexible to work weekends, holidays, and evenings, and assist at other locations as needed.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
• Serv-Safe certification is preferred.
• Interest in learning new products and recipes.
• A passion for food and creativity.
• Maintain helpful, tactful, and courteous behavior at all times.
• Work efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Basic math skills for transactions and measurements.
• Learn to operate registers, scales, scanners, and payment terminals.
• Understand UPC codes, signage, and register functions.
• Read labels, signage, and company policies.
• Knowledge of deli ingredients and food preparation.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
• Handle ingredients like meats, vegetables, spices, and sauces.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs, reach, bend, work in coolers, and stand for long periods.
