Job summary

IKEA is seeking a part-time IKEA Food team member in Las Vegas to prepare and serve menu items while ensuring quality and food safety. You will assist customers, handle sales transactions, and maintain a clean dining area in a fast-paced retail environment.

The role requires availability for nights and weekends, with a pay range that reflects part-time hours and seasonal needs. Previous retail experience is preferred and training for food handling will be provided.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years related experience in a high-volume, customer-facing environment.
  • Experience in a high-volume retail environment with basic merchandising/selling concepts preferred.
  • Food Handler Certification and/or Food Handler Card required within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain IKEA Food menu items following food safety and sustainability standards.
  • Assist customers in purchases and process transactions accurately, adhering to cash handling policies.
  • Maintain equipment operation and conduct preventive and cleaning maintenance.
  • Keep dining and play areas clean and organized.
  • Oversee Swedish Food Market merchandising, pricing, stock rotation, and sanitization of sampling equipment.

What you'll be doing day to day
  • Prepare and maintain IKEA Food menu items according to the IKEA Food concept. Adhering to food handling, health, and sustainability standards.
  • Respond to customer inquiries to support informed purchases and process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, adhering to cash handling policies.
  • Maintain equipment operation through adherence to operating guidelines, troubleshooting breakdowns, and conducting preventive and cleaning maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean supply of dishes, silverware, cooking utensils, pots, pans, and trays that comply with Food Safety Standards.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of dining and play areas.
  • Manage the Swedish Food Market by overseeing merchandising, pricing, stock rotation, and the cleaning and sanitization of sampling equipment and areas.
  • Ensure accurate and timely price communication across all food solutions, including digital platforms, menu boards, and shelf tags.
  • Maintain supply rotation and stocking in all IKEA Food solutions, adhering to First In, First Out (FIFO), expiration dates, and sustainability standards.
  • Implements IKEA Food policies and procedures for goods receiving and monthly inventory.
  • Adhere to safe food handling, workplace safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations, promptly reporting concerns to managers.
  • Contribute to an environment where the IKEA culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co-workers and customers.

JOB TYPE: Permanent - Part-Time (limited benefits)

HOURS: 12-19 hrs/week (PT)-

SHIFT: Retail Environment, must be able to work nights & weekends.

The hourly pay range for this role is: $17.58-$24.83.
