Job summary

IKEA Food is hiring a Food Service Team Member to deliver high-quality menu items and exceptional service in a fast-paced store environment.

You will handle customer inquiries, support transactions, and maintain cleanliness and safety across IKEA Food solutions, while upholding FIFO and food safety standards. The role supports a team-focused culture with opportunities to develop merchandising and operational skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years related experience.
  • Experience in a high-volume customer facing environment preferred.
  • Experience in a high-volume retail environment with knowledge of basic merchandising and selling concepts preferred.
  • Food Handler Certification and/or Food Handler Card (as required by local jurisdiction) required within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain IKEA Food menu items according to the IKEA Food concept, with safety and sustainability standards.
  • Respond to customer inquiries to support informed purchases and process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain equipment operation, perform troubleshooting and cleaning maintenance.
  • Keep dining and play areas clean and organized.
  • Oversee Swedish Food Market merchandising, pricing, stock rotation, and sampling areas cleanliness.
  • Ensure accurate price communication across all food solutions including digital platforms and shelf tags.
  • Manage FIFO inventory, restocking and expiry controls for IKEA Food solutions.
  • Adhere to safe food handling, hygiene regulations and report concerns to managers.
  • Contribute to a diverse, inclusive IKEA culture among co-workers and customers.

What you'll be doing day to day

As a Food Service Team Member ensuring operational excellence of IKEA Food, you will:

  • - Prepare and maintain IKEA Food menu items according to the IKEA Food concept. Adhering to food handling, health, and sustainability standards.
  • - Respond to customer inquiries to support informed purchases and process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, adhering to cash handling policies.
  • - Maintain equipment operation through adherence to operating guidelines, troubleshooting breakdowns, and conducting preventive and cleaning maintenance.
  • - Maintain a clean supply of dishes, silverware, cooking utensils, pots, pans, and trays that comply with Food Safety Standards.
  • - Ensure the cleanliness and organization of dining and play areas.
  • - Manage the Swedish Food Market by overseeing merchandising, pricing, stock rotation, and the cleaning and sanitization of sampling equipment and areas.
  • - Ensure accurate and timely price communication across all food solutions, including digital platforms, menu boards, and shelf tags.
  • - Maintain supply rotation and stocking in all IKEA Food solutions, adhering to First In, First Out (FIFO), expiration dates, and sustainability standards.
  • - Implements IKEA Food policies and procedures for goods receiving and monthly inventory.
  • - Adhere to safe food handling, workplace safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations, promptly reporting concerns to managers.
  • - Contribute to an environment where the IKEA culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co-workers and customers.

JOB TYPE – Permanent

HOURS - 12-20 hours per week /Limited Benefits Eligible

SHIFTS – Fully open work schedule availability including evenings and weekends required; Work schedules are published one month in advance

The pay range for this role is $22.00-$28.65/hour

The anticipated posting closing date is on or around 10/4/26
