Job summary

La Lomita, Inc. operates El Tigre Food Stores/ Tex Best Travel Centers in a retail deli environment in Alabama, seeking a Food Service Associate to prepare, serve, and stock food items while upholding health codes and quality standards.

You will ensure customer satisfaction, assist with merchandising, and maintain sanitation. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, with food service experience and certification preferred for advancement.

Qualifications

• Experience with food preparation and sanitation procedures.
• Experience in a food service environment.
• Food Handlers Permit, or Food Safety Certification.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food products according to established recipes, portioning, cooking, and serving standards.
• Follow all Company Policies and Established Procedures in the deli operation.
• Perform cleaning and sanitation of deli kitchen equipment, floors, mats, walls, hoods, and storage areas.
• Keep work and service area safe, sanitary, and orderly.
• Provide professional and friendly assistance to customers, vendors, and other associates.

The Food Service Associate performs food service functions, including preparation/serving of food items and stocking of supplies. They are responsible for maintaining State & Federal health codes, customer satisfaction and accurate work results that are noticeable by the customer (i.e., food quality, wholesomeness, presentation, merchandising, portion control and maintenance of departmental food standards).

Duties and Responsibilities

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

• Prepare food products according to established recipes, portioning, cooking, and serving standards.
• Follow all Company Policies and Established Procedures in the deli operation.
• Perform all regular cleaning and sanitation activities to deli kitchen equipment, floors, mats, walls, hoods, and food storage areas.
• Keep work and service area in a safe, sanitary, and orderly manner.
• Provide professional and friendly assistance to customers, vendors, and other Associates.

Requirements

Qualifications
