Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a Food Service Assistant to support meal service in a fast-paced environment. You will monitor food temperatures, set up and sanitize serving areas, operate cash registers, and assist with restocking and cleaning according to HACCP guidelines.

Ideal candidates have customer service experience, basic math skills, and the ability to read and follow directions. On-the-job training is provided; some locations may require Serv Safe and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16.
• Previous customer service experience and basic money handling preferred.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• On-the-job training will be provided.
• Serv Safe may be required within a designated time frame depending on location.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) may be required depending on location requirements.

Responsibilities

• Complies with HACCP guidelines for food service.
• Provides outstanding customer service and communicates effectively with patrons and coworkers.
• Maintains quality control standards and professional working relationships.
• Operates equipment such as grills, beverage machines, toasters, cash registers, steam equipment, dishwashers.
• Restocks food areas and cleans and sanitizes equipment and surfaces.
• Handles payments for food and beverages using a computerized register.
