Job summary

Missouri Veterans Commission is seeking a part-time Food Service Assistant to help prepare and serve meals for our Veterans. The role includes assisting with meal selection, tray line assembly, serving, and overall kitchen duties in a respectful, team-based environment.

Hourly pay varies by shift ($16.99–$17.09 Day, $18.99–$19.09 Evening) with additional weekend differentials. Benefits include health, dental, vision, life insurance, and paid time off.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Veterans meals, which includes meal selection, tray line assembly, and serving
• Prepare foods as assigned
• Deliver and pick up food carts to/from resident areas
• Clean the dining area – sweep and mop floors, equipment, remove garbage
• Operate dish machine and other kitchen equipment safely
• Lift, carry and transfer heavy food containers – load, stock, label, and rotate
