Job summary

State of Missouri's Veterans Home is seeking a Food Service Assistant to provide nutritious, appetizing meals to our Veterans, part of a compassionate dietary team.

You will support meal selection, tray assembly, serving, and kitchen duties across day and evening shifts with comprehensive benefits and paid leave. This role offers meaningful service, teamwork, and growth opportunities within MO Veterans Home.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Veterans meals, which includes meal selection, tray line assembly, and serving
• Prepare foods as assigned
• Deliver and pick up food carts to/from resident areas
• Clean the dining area – sweep and mop floors, equipment, remove garbage
• Operate dish machine and other kitchen equipment safely
• Lift, carry and transfer heavy food containers – load, stock, label, and rotate

Hourly Pay

• $16.99 - $17.09 day shift
• $18.99 - $19.09 evening shift
