Position Description

The Food Service Assistant Manager will assist in overseeing food preparation, team management, inventory control, and customer service to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the food service area. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for food service management, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to providing a positive customer experience.

Responsibilities

1. Operational Support: Support the Food Service Manager in managing daily operations, supervising staff, managing schedules, and monitoring workflows.
2. Food Quality & Safety: Oversee food preparation, presentation, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
3. Customer Service Management: Handle customer inquiries and complaints, ensure prompt service, and train staff in customer service excellence.
4. Inventory & Stock Management: Manage inventory levels, conduct stock checks, and oversee ordering and receiving processes.
5. Training & Development: Train new hires, monitor performance, and provide coaching and feedback.
6. Administrative Support: Maintain records, generate reports, and oversee cash handling procedures.
7. Compliance & Safety: Train staff on safety procedures and support compliance with food safety regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality, culinary arts, or business coursework is a plus.
• 2-3 years in a food service environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations, kitchen equipment, and inventory management.
